The god of the Chojin. Due to the origin of the legend (and its unreliable narrator), and the fact that later another origin is provided for the Gold and Silver Masks, there is some argument to be made that this character is no longer a canon character and/or one of many gods in the chojin pantheon.

About[]

The chojin god that appeared to Kinniku Clan Ancestor and gave him the Gold and Silver Masks. His behaviour is the same as Hermes from the Aesop Fable The Honest Woodcutter. He is seen in another flashback as the head of the council of Chojin Gods.

History[]

Gold and Silver Mask Legend[]

One day, at a waterfall, an ancestor of the Kinniku Clan drops his mask into a nearby waterfall. [1] God appears with two masks in his hand: the dirty old mask and a shiny gold mask. He asks which one the ancestor dropped, to which the ancestor - in all his nervousness - picks the dirty mask whilst intending to have picked the gold mask. God is pleased with this action, as it shows honesty, and he grants the ancestor two masks: a silver mask and a gold mask. [1]

He reveals that the gold mask is one of war, while the silver mask is one of peace, and warns that the two should never be separated lest some terrible tragedy befall the world. He then disappears, while the Kinniku Clan create a shrine to the two masks and keep them safe on behalf of God. [1]
